The Institute of East Asian Studies

The Institute of East Asian Studies at the University of Duisburg-Essen offers research oriented teaching programs with a focus on contemporary China and Japan at an advanced level.

At the Institute of East Asian Studies IN-EAST, more than 25 scholars from different scientific disciplines are engaged in both research and education on contemporary East Asia, focusing on the economies, politics, and societies of China and Japan.
