Topic: Determination of aromatic amines as relevant toxicological components in aqueous and biological samples using comprehensive multi-dimensional GCxGC-MS.
Aromatic amines are compounds used as drugs, cosmetics, solvents, pesticides, rubber dyes, manufacturing of other chemicals etc. in various fields such as farming and industries. They are released into the environment as a consequence of human activity. My study focuses on analyzing the aromatic amines in the urine of smokers and non-smokers due to their potent carcinogenic effects that can be caused by tobacco smoking and possibly leading to bladder cancer.
Position: PhD student in Instrumental Analytical Chemistry since January 2011
