Science and research at the highest international level and an outstanding and excellent education of our future physicians are the primary aims which the Medical Faculty pursues with ambition.

On the basis of national and international collaboration our research groups work towards an optimisation of clinical diagnostics and treatment for the benefit of the patients.

We have dedicated our research priorities to the three main areas Heart and Circulation, Oncology and Transplantation and in addition to the interdisciplinary domains Genetic Medicine and Immunology and Infectiology.
Methods of evaluation and quality management are applied in order to continuously improve the quality of our teaching.
