In the winter semester 2009/2010, the University of Duisburg-Essen introduced a comprehensive mentoring system with the aim of promoting student satisfaction and preventing students from dropping out of their studies.

The UDE Mentoring System represents the continuation of the project "Educational Equity in Focus", and continues to pursue the goal of supporting students.

In physics, students in the first two semesters receive intensive support through our Buddy System.
In the further course of their studies, we then offer information events on various topics and accompanying course offerings in particular.

It should be noted, however, that the mentoring system is not intended to close any subject-related gaps (for this purpose, there is the LUDI as well as numerous semester-accompanying tutorials), but to address problems in the study program in general.
