DAAD DUHN Kick-off Event 2025 in Berlin

To mark the launch of the DUHN project series, representatives from Ukraine and Germany gathered in Berlin on 3 and 4 of December 2025 for an network kick-off meeting. The aim of the meeting was to intensify professional exchange and lay the foundations for sustainable German-Ukrainian cooperation within the network. In thematically focused working groups, both subject-specific and interdisciplinary goals and challenges of German-Ukrainian cooperation under the current conditions of the war, launched by Russia against Ukraine, were discussed.

The focus was particularly on issues of cooperation under difficult structural conditions, coordination between the participating projects, and the identification of common interfaces within the DUHN network. Together, initial approaches to solving existing structural challenges were developed, and prospects for further cooperation were outlined. The programme was complemented by a poster session, during which, among other things, the DUHN Project at the University of Duisburg-Essen was presented (view the poster). This provided an opportunity for in-depth exchange with colleagues, for discussing key content areas, and for networking across project and disciplinary boundaries.
