In this project we are focussing on abstracting sensors and their respective data for the application layer of the internet of things. Our primary focus is on adaptive aggregation of redundant sensor data in self-organising systems. This should enhace quality, reliability, accuracy and robustness of the data and the system therefore. The goal is to create a system capable of autonomously adapting certain parameters to keep fulfiling pre-arranged quality of service agreements or to adapt to changes in the quality of service agreements. For example: On a request the system can switch from a low energy, inaccurate measuring mode to a high quality and high accuracy measuring mode to report a small number of highly accurate measurements and go back to an energy conserving state. Such requests can be generated from the system or a user to enable adaptation due to internal or external changes.
