What does material behaviour, testing and classification tell us about the safe use of textiles in membrane structures? Farid Sahnoune, working for the R&D at Serge Ferrari Group brings extensive expertise in technical textiles and membrane materials. He has been involved in the membrane structures community for many years and contributed to the European guidance for the structural design of tensile membrane structures as well as research activities addressing fire safety requirements for textile membranes. In his keynote, “Fire safety of textiles”, he will provide an industry perspective on the fire performance of architectural textiles and the testing, classification and material development behind their safe application.
