Curriculum Vitae

Anna Eggert studied General Engineering Science (B.Sc.) with focus on Environmental & Energy Engineering at the Technical University of Hamburg (TUHH). After an internship at an NGO focusing on sustainable urban mobility and infrastructure, she decided to expand her technical knowledge with insides into social and political perspectives on urban development. In summer 2020, she finished her Master’s studies in Urban Energy & Environmental Planning with a specialisation in Cities & Sustainability at Aalborg University in the north of Denmark. Since fall 2020 she is employed as a PhD student in the field of coastal adaptation and sustainable urban development at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) in Copenhagen.
Her research interest lies in Sustainable Urban Development (SUD) by means of integrating environmental, social, and economic processes of Urban Systems towards sustainable pathways. This includes climate adaptation and mitigation as an integral part of urban planning and management. Here, system thinking plays a crucial role for her. Anna’s PhD project builds upon this perspective by developing a modelling approach that aims at integrating system thinking and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and uncovering sustainable and resilient trajectories of climate-adaptive urban development.
