Curriculum Vitae

Ira Freude studied Civil Engineering (B.Sc.) at Technische Universität Berlin (TUB). Since winter 2018 she is enrolled in the master’s programme Urban Systems (Sustainable Urban Development M.Sc.) at UDE. To complete the theoretical input during her studies with practical experience, Ira Freude has always worked parallel in various projects and companies. These include the project "Students design teaching" at TUB, the development and design of participation processes in an urban planning and landscape architecture firm in Berlin, and she assisted - during her employment in an international railroads engineering firm – the department of structural engineering’s expansion by one location. She is experienced in facilitating group work, designing and coordinating group-processes, as well as structuring workflows for projects.

Her research interests lie in civic participation processes, especially deliberative approaches, and the question of how communities can develop towards a more sustainable way of life through collaborative behaviour. She engages in academic processes as well as in volunteer activities. In her volunteer work, she is committed to sustainability as well as the rights of children and adolescents.
