My work integrates environmental chemistry, ecotoxicology, ecology and human health to address the multiple consequences of the pollution of freshwater systems. Through large scale data analysis, I am investigating:

• the prediction of chemical contamination
• the quantification of chemical pressure in a realistic mixture context
• multiple stressors
• community ecology of benthic macroinvertebrates, diatoms, fish and macrophytes
• human brain development

In addition, I am working on the establishment of a German wide database for water and sediment chemistry using federal monitoring data.
