We are always looking for motivated people who want to explore magnetism and disorder in materials using X-ray and neutron scattering. Below you will find our current openings, as well as opportunities for students at the University of Duisburg-Essen.

We are offering a 3-year PhD position within MemGrain, an international research collaboration funded by the DFG. You will use X-ray and neutron scattering to study how nanoscale grain boundaries affect proton conduction in barium zirconate membranes.

Praktika

Praktische Einblicke in die aktuelle Forschung unserer Arbeitsgruppe erhalten Sie in folgenden Praktika:

• Fortgeschrittenenpraktikum Anorganische Chemie
• Fortgeschrittenenpraktikum Analytische Chemie

Inhalte sind die Synthese und Charakterisierung nanostrukturierter anorganischer Materialien, Magnetismus sowie die Strukturbestimmung mittels Röntgenstreuung. Nach Möglichkeit können Sie auch an unseren Messreisen zu Großforschungseinrichtungen (Synchrotron- und Neutronenquellen) teilnehmen.
