Tasks

With the ICM Advisory Board, the University of Duisburg-Essen has established a committee to perform both strategic and operational tasks in the field of information, communication and media. It has a comprehensive and expanded advisory function for the Vice-Rector for Transfer, Innovation & Digitalisation (TID) and for the Chief Information Officer (CIO).

One of the ICM Advisory Board's key tasks is to advise on the finances of the University Library (UB) and the Centre for Information and Media Services (ZIM) at regular intervals and to review these in preparation for the Rectorate.

Centralised and decentralised new IT acquisitions that affect entire units or multiple units or that can be considered pilot projects must first be submitted to the ICM Advisory Board.

Servers and centralised or decentralised IT infrastructure can only be activated after review by the ICM Advisory Board. The ICM Advisory Board also assumes the tasks of a review committee responsible for approving applications for the establishment of decentralised IT infrastructure.

Dates

The ICM Advisory Board meetings usually take place on the first Tuesday of each month at 2 p.m. as a video conference. Date changes are possible in individual cases.
