Tasks
The IT Committee – consisting of representatives from the department and the staff councils – discusses the systems underlying the IT framework service agreement with the aim of ensuring the early and comprehensive involvement of the staff councils in the planning, introduction, application and modification of information technology systems.
It makes recommendations on staff representation participation (co-determination, involvement and consultation in accordance with LPVG NRW) and on how to proceed with implementing the planned measures.

Members
The IT Committee consists of the following members:
- four representatives of the department, at least one of whom must be a member in accordance with Section 8 (1) LPVG NRW; currently these are:
the Head of Human Resources
the CIO
the Head of ZIM
a representative of the University Library - two members of each staff council
The Data Protection Officer (DSB) or his/her representative, the IT Security Officer (CISO) and the Head of the Department of Digitalisation and Academic Controlling participate in the meetings of the IT Committee in an advisory capacity. In addition, guests may be invited to attend meetings on specific topics.
The IT Committee has a quorum if one representative of the department in accordance with § 8 (1) LPVG NRW (Rector, Chancellor, Head of Human Resources) and one representative of each staff council are present.
Meetings
The IT Committee meets once a quarter.
The meeting dates are set at the beginning of each calendar year.
The IT Committee meetings are not open to the public. Guests are invited.
Consulting requests can be submitted to the IT Committee by both the department management and the staff councils and must be registered at least two weeks before the next meeting date, accompanied by written documentation.
