The Bierwisch team at the Fraunhofer IWM has developed a small tool for quick simulation. We would like to make this tool available to you. There are actually two tools involved:

  1. Process window prediction:
    https://websites.fraunhofer.de/pbf-lb-p-process-windows-identifier

This tool is aimed at those who use polymers and suggests the optimum laser power for the process.

  1. Rapid simulation:
This is a slightly more sophisticated tool that actually performs a quick 1D simulation. So you can do your own parameter studies here.
    https://websites.fraunhofer.de/pbf-lb-p-simulation

This tool is also currently aimed exclusively at those working with polymers. We are working on the idea of how we can also use the tools for metals.
