Friends of Mathematics Education

Mathematics has a unique place in the school curriculum. It is a highly important subject in its own right, as a basis of much of science, technology and engineering and as the underpinning of a skilled workforce. As a result, there have been many and diverse projects to support mathematics by major foundations across Europe, whether to support professional learning, to offer student enrichment, to scaffold early mathematical learning or enhance adult numeracy. However the scope, extent and impact of these projects across Europe is neither known nor widely acknowledged in Europe.
