Congratulations, Dr. Joel Guttke

On February 24, 2025, Joel Guttke successfully defended his PhD thesis on ‘Cognitive activation in the primary EFL classroom’ (Kognitive Aktivierung im Englischunterricht der Grundschule. Entwicklung und Validierung einer Skala zur fachspezifischen Erfassung kognitiver Aktivierung aus Perspektive von Lehrkräften und Schüler:innen). The committee was impressed with Joel Guttke’s overall interdisciplinary study as well as his ability to discuss his findings with regard to the wider research context beyond the very scope of his project.
