New Publications by Matthias Kranke

Two recently published articles by INEF member Jun.-Prof. Dr. Matthias Kranke (IFSO) investigate the degree of change in transnational economic policy in the face of drastic global environmental change. An article with Cornel Ban (CBS) for Third World Quarterly shows that while the International Monetary Fund (IMF) now more fully recognises the need for climate policy, continuity prevails in lending operations. From four illustrative cases they infer a strong tendency for loan arrangements to promote green neoliberalism. In a sole-authored article for Policy Studies, Matthias Kranke explores the battery of indicators used by the Nordic Council of Ministers to assess the region’s development. Overall, the Council effectively pursues a mainstream inclusive green growth strategy. The publications can be found here:
