GIS Kurs für Anfänger

Im März findet ein GIS Kurs für Anfänger statt (Infos zu GIS siehe unten).
Der Kurs läuft vom 19.-23.03. 2018, 9:00-16:00; er beinhaltet keine Prüfungsleistung und bringt 2 Credits für den E1 Bereich (Bachelorstudierende) oder kann als freiwillige zusätzliche Leistung auf das Zeugnis genommen werden. Für alle eher ökologisch arbeitenden Biologen sind GIS Kenntnisse in vielen Bereichen ein Pluspunkt bei Bewerbungen.

GIS (Geographic Information Systems) is a standard tool in geography, ecology, and hence, biology. It allows to map, manage, visualize and analyze all kind of spatial data. Biological data (e.g. sampling sites, nature reserves, species distribution) can be placed in a spatial context and related to abiotic data (e.g. land use, climate, habitat conditions, migration corridors). Such kind of analyses and GIS are not only applied in research but are also part of the daily work in consultant companies and agencies.
