International Summer Program for Automotive Engineering Technologies

Summer 2016

The "International Summer Program for Automotive Engineering Technology" is an international academic program designed for final year undergraduate and graduate students. It is organized by the Faculty of Engineering of University of Duisburg Essen in cooperation with the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) within the program framework "Language and Specialist Courses in Germany" targeted at the American undergraduates and graduates.

With our “International Summer Program for Automotive Engineering Technology” we try to bridge a gap in international education by providing a solid program coordinated with the curricula of our American partners.
We expect that besides the academic aspect of our program, the integration of excursions to German automotive companies as well as the organization of optional industry internships will be of high interest to American students.

The 6 week Basic module program runs from

July 18 - August 26, 2016

The program requires no prior German language training because the official language is English. However, four weeks of intensive German language classes are provided in Additional Module I to enable visiting students to socially interact with the native speakers, in-class and beyond. Please see for more information about possible additional modules and their fees in
Fees and expenses and PROGRAM.
Credit transfer for language and for engineering classes is organized with the corresponding American partner universities. Students can earn up to 8 credits for courses successfully completed.
The program fee for the 6 week course program is only EUR 2.200,-.
