Das DeZIM-Institut veranstaltet am kommenden Donnerstag, 02. April 2020 (16:00 – 17:15 Uhr MEZ), das Web-Seminar „Changing solidarities and collective action in times of pandemic“, zu dem alle Interessierten herzlich eingeladen sind. Das Webinar wird in Kooperation mit dem International Sociological Association Research Committee on Social Classes and Social Movements (ISA RC-47) durchgeführt.

Moderiert von Prof. Dr. Sabrina Zajak werden fünf internationale Wissenschaftler*innen folgende Fragen diskutieren:

• Auf welche Weise beeinflussen die Pandemie-Krise und ihre sozialen, politischen und wirtschaftlichen Folgen soziale Bewegungen, Protest und kollektive Aktionen – heute und in der näheren Zukunft?
• Welche neuen Bedrohungen, aber auch politische und diskursive Möglichkeiten entstehen für soziale Bewegungen?
• Welche neuen Formen von nationaler und transnationaler Solidarität bilden sich aus?

Das Webinar findet in englischer Sprache statt. Die beteiligten Forschenden werden je eine fünfminütige Präsentation halten und dann die Fragen aus dem Publikum diskutieren. Das Webinar ist über die Konferenz-Software Zoom zu erreichen. Fragen können über die Chat-Funktion der Software eingebracht werden. The DeZIM-Institute is co-organising the Webinar „Changing solidarities and collective action in times of pandemic“ on April 2, 2020, 4:00-5:15 pm (MEZ). It is held in cooperation with the International Sociological Association Research Committee on Social Classes and Social Movements (ISA RC-47). Everyone is welcome to join and participate in the Webinar.

The event will be moderated by Prof. Sabrina Zajak. Five international Researchers will discuss the following questions:

• How is the pandemic crisis and its social, political and economic implications affecting social movements, protest, and collective action today and in the near future?
• What new threats but also political and discursive opportunities arise for social movements?
• What new forms of national and transnational solidarities are emerging?

Each discussant will give a 5-minute presentation and discuss questions and contributions by the audience. The audience can ask questions via chat in the Video Conference Platform Zoom. If you only want to watch, you can also use the ISA RC47 Youtube channel, live or afterwards.
