I am working in theoretical condensed matter physics. More specifically I study topological electromagnetic excitations, in particular surface plasmon polaritons (SPPs). SPPs are surface waves propagating at the interface between a metal and a dielectric. In recent years, topological SPP states have been observed, similar to topological textures found in magnetism.
The goal of my research is to understand the topological properties of SPPs and to study their dynamics. For this purpose, I use analytical and computational methods, both commercial and self-developed.
My research is part of the CRC 1242 “Non-Equilibrium Dynamics of Condensed Matter in the Time Domain.
