  • Hot and cold flow curves of metallic materials
  • Technology of hot rolling of flat products (heavy plates and hot rolled strips)
  • Technology of cold rolling of strips
  • Technology of hot rolling of long products: bars, wire rod, sections
  • Technology of open-die forging and drop forging
  • Technology of further processing of wire rod (die drawing, roll drawing, cold rolling)
  • Technology of extrusion processes

  • The tensile test: Fundamentals, standardization, samples, evaluation, formability and necking
  • Der upsetting test: Fundamentals, samples, evaluation, elastic machine behaviour, determination of hot and cold flow curves
  • Hardness testing of metallic materials: Fundamentals, standardization, testing devices
  • The bending test: Fundamentals, standardization, evaluation
  • The torsion test: Fundamentals, application, evaluation, determination of flow curves
  • Toughness testing in the charpy impact bending test: Fundamentals, standardization, evaluation, mathematical description of test results
  • Testing of forming characteristics for sheet metals: Flat tensile test, technological testing, cupping test, foming limit curves, deformation analysis

  • Classification of forming processes, calculation of deformations
  • State of stress and equilibrium
  • Kinematics of material flow, velocity fields, criteria for kinematic admissibility
  • Fundamental material modeling with flow curve functions
  • Yield criteria of metallic materials
  • Flow rule acc. to Levý - v. Mises
  • Slab method theory with applications to forming processes (strip theory: rolling and plane-strain forging, tube theory: upsetting of full cylinders, disc theory: wire drawing and tube drawing)
  • Calculation of processing forces at drawing of rounds and sections
  • Higher theory of plasticity: Upper bound on forming power, Slip line field theory
  • Fundamentals of the finite element method in metal forming
