The University of Duisburg-Essen is part of an international network and maintains close relationships with various partner universities within and outside Europe, and since October 2022 also with the Bern University of Applied Sciences, Department of Social Work.

As part of the collaboration, mobilities are possible for social work students as well as various mobilities for UDE employees, which can be financed via the SEMP (Swiss European Mobility Programme).
