The Centre for Global Cooperation Research (CGCR) is an interfaculty research center at the University of Duisburg-Essen (UDE) that brings together globally oriented research in the humanities and social sciences. The centre aims to be a place for international cooperation and a hub for interdisciplinary projects. In particular, research at the centre focuses on pressing contemporary issues such as sustainability and democracy, human rights and social participation, cross-border labor markets, and contested memory politics. In our research laboratories (labs) and fellow groups, UDE researchers collaborate with (inter)national colleagues and develop interdisciplinary research projects. The CGCR maintains a fellowship program that is closely related to these formats. This program facilitates relevant research at the UDE and contributes to the international networking. The international visibility of research results is ensured not least by the Routledge Global Cooperation Series published by the Center, which is largely accessible in open access.
