Exchange programs in Essen

Chinese colleagues who would like to join a training program in Essen can apply to the faculty's delegate for China cooperation with clear information about their existing scientific experience and knowledge as well as the desired goals for their research work (thematic bias, experimental techniques). The delegate then establishes contact with the relevant work groups, clinics or institutes. Candidates and potential scientific supervisors then define the experimental aims, the length of the research exchange and funding with each other. The funding of a research exchange is possible through institutions such as the DAAD and CSC for example, or sometimes may be covered by the Chinese partner.

Since 2007 there has been an agreement with Tongji Medical College in Wuhan that doctors or scientists can apply for a 6 to 24 month research or study grant from the Medical Faculty of the University of Duisburg-Essen in order to complete their degree. The scholarships are now available to applicants of all three partner universities.
