Since 2010, young people from non-academic families, with and without a migration background, have been supported personally and financially in the qualification phase before the Abitur, i.e. from grade 11 (G8) or 12 (G9), in the transition and discovery phase and in their studies.

Chance hoch 2 aims to support pupils whose potential has not yet been realised for a variety of reasons, young people who are committed but have had too few opportunities and resources to pursue their interests and who would like to study but need competent support from outside.

The aim of the two-stage programme is to increase the proportion of high school graduates and university graduates from families without academic experience, especially at the UDE, but also at other universities in the Ruhr region.
