Volcanism
Magma mixtures
At present, studies on volcanic rocks of the Westerwald take place, to clarify the influence of magma mixtures and diffusion processes on the genesis of undersaturated series. In the Westerwald’s Tertiary volcanic field mixture phenomena are "frozen" in many volcanites, showing all transitions of assimilation and thus provide ideal conditions for studying the processes.

Quarternary Volcanic Field of the Eifel and the Laacher See Magma Chamber Paradoxon
Working in the Quaternary volcanic fields of the Eifel include the assignment of the ascent pathways of magmas to young tectonics, mapping, identification and characterization of the acidulous waters and mofettes as well as the reconsideration of the erupted magma chamber volumes in the East Eifel.
