Diversity policies and risks of discrimination in the Public Employment Service

We analyse risks of structural (institutional and organizational) discrimination by the PES towards their “customers”, i.e. persons who make use of the PES – mostly because they are unemployed, looking for work and / or receive unemployment benefits. We also analyse which policies of anti-discrimination and diversity exist within the PES to prevent discrimination. Analyses are based on a literature review, expert workshops, analysis of documents, case studies, and an extensive juridical assessment. The project serves as a study for the annual report of the Federal Anti-Discrimination Agency.
