North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) Unemployment Report

The NRW Unemployment Report describes the developments on the labour market in North Rhine-Westphalia. It focuses on topics such as unemployment, long-term unemployment, basic social security and poverty. By focusing on NRW and the associated processing of regional data, socio-spatial problem situations can be identified.

The unemployment reports, which are published four times a year on different topics, are produced in cooperation between the Landesarbeitsgemeinschaft der Freien Wohlfahrtspflege NRW (LAG FW) and the IAQ. The LAG FW contributes to the success of the project with its practical experience of the local agencies affiliated to it, the IAQ with its sociological expertise. An essential data basis of the NRW Unemployment Report is the official statistics of the Federal Employment Agency (Bundesagentur für Arbeit). Depending on the topic of the report, other data (e.g. data from the Statistical State Office) are also taken into account, on the basis of which statements can be made for the State of NRW as well as for the districts and independent cities.
