IN-EAST Climate Codex 2025

All members of IN-EAST are not only aware of the consequences of climate change and how human activities have caused these changes, but that academics need to do more than just spread their knowledge about anthropogenic CO2 emissions. We believe that no one should stand idle and ignore the global efforts to mitigate a future dominated by a permanent struggle to adapt to rising sea levels, extreme weather events, water shortages, crop failure and worse, not only here in Europe, but everywhere on this planet.

Members of IN-EAST therefore consider the climate impact of all of their academic work, from paper consumption to carbon footprints caused by travelling. Avoiding short-term stays in far-away regions, switching to online formats where possible, and encouraging colleagues near and far to do the same are just three measures we are committed to. IN-EAST is part of the effort to strengthen the global response to climate change and leads the flyless.net (www.flyless.net) initiative. Join in!
