If you are arriving at Frankfurt airport, there are several connections an hour from "Frankfurt Flughafen Fernbahnhof" (the train station directly at Frankfurt airport) to "Duisburg Hauptbahnhof" (Duisburg Central Station, the train station closest to the conference venue). About one connection an hour is a direct one, taking about 90 minutes; several further connections take a little longer and you change trains at "Köln Hauptbahnhof". A taxi to the conference venue ("Die Wolfsburg", Falkenweg 6, Mühlheim an der Ruhr) from "Duisburg Hauptbahnhof" takes about 10 minutes and will cost about 10 - max. 15 Euros. This is what we recommend, because, although a tram takes you to within about 10 minutes walking distance from the venue, the walk is a fairly steep uphill one and a bit of a drag with luggage.

If you are arriving at Duesseldorf airport, the free "Skytrain" (about 5 minutes) will take you from the terminal to the railway station "Düsseldorf Flughafen". From here, several trains an hour take you directly to "Duisburg Hauptbahnhof" in only about 10 minutes. A note: If you are taking a local train ("Regionalbahn", "Regional-Express", S-Bahn) you cannot buy tickets on the train. In that case, please buy tickets at one of the machines - otherwise, since there may be ticket checks, this will count as fare dodging and may cost you 60 Euros. There are also fast trains (IC, ICE), where you can buy tickets on the train, though they are slightly more expensive than from the machine. These trains only take 8 minutes. From "Duisburg Hauptbahnhof", we recommend a taxi to the conference venue ("Die Wolfsburg", Falkenweg 6, Mühlheim an der Ruhr). This takes about 10 minutes and will cost about 10 - max. 15 Euros. This is what we recommend, because, although a tram takes you to within about 10 minutes walking distance from the venue, the walk is a fairly steep uphill one and a bit of a drag with luggage.

...by train

The easiest way to get to the Wolfsburg is to take a taxi from Duisburg central station (Hauptbahnhof). This will take about 10 minutes and will cost 10 to max. 15 Euros.

... by car

Please choose the A3 or A40 until the junction Autobahnkreuz Duisburg-Kaiserberg. Please exit direction Duisburg-Kaiserberg, turn left direction Duisburg-Universität and then first follow the indications to Mülheim an der Ruhr. At the end of the small tunnel turn left and on the main street turn right in the direction of Mülheim an der Ruhr.  After 1 km (ca. 100 m after having entered the city of Mülheim an der Ruhr) turn right onto Prinzenhöhe (30 km/h limit) and follow the signs to the Akademie "Wolfsburg". Parking space is available on the premises of the Wolfsburg.
