In this lecture different concepts of machine learning are presented and how they can be applied in automation and control engineering. To clarify the concepts, individual algorithms are explained in more detail as examples.

In the first part, supervised, unsupervised and semisupervised learning is introduced.

The second part deals with the reinforcement learning and the use for dimension reduction.

In the last part the neural networks and the deep learning based on them are described.
