Principals and application of coupled chromatographic separation techniques in the field of food- and residue analytics
The hyphenation of several chromatographic separation techniques opens new possibilities to efficiently handle complex sample matrices without time consuming sample cleanup steps. Especially in the field of food- and residue analytics complex matrices are often found and the source for many problems. LC-GC hyphenation techniques, for instance, are known since the nineteen eighties and well understood for selected separation problems. Scope of my work is to generalize the instrumental factors, which significantly differ from application to application for any type of hyphenation. For example, the secure introduction of various solvents and volumes into the GC from the LC is only one challenging part of this very interesting area of research.
