Prof. Dr.-Ing. Michael PrillaResearch interest
My interest lies in analyzing the work and learning of people (individuals and groups) and supporting this by information technology. It is important to me that technology is always developed together with potential users and that it is always designed, implemented, and tested in the interaction between people, technology, and organization. My aim is to understand and methodically support the design and further development of the resulting socio-technical systems.
Community
I am deputy speaker of the Special Interest Group on Human-Computer Interaction of the Society for Computer Science ("Gesellschaft für Informatik") in Germany and speaker of the Special Interest Group on CSCW. In these positions, I work to ensure that HCI and CSCW are interesting and active research areas in Germany. An example of this is the annual Konferenz Mensch und Computer. In addition, I am the MCI's expert for young scientists and the spokesperson for the "Promotion of Young Scientists" working group, and I am committed to attracting young scientists to the department.
I am also a member of the steering and/or program committee of various international conferences in my field such as ECSCW and CSCW, ACM CHI, ACM GROUP or ECTEL.
