Counting steps for science MoveMyDay

Most Germans suffer from lack of exercise. Yet more exercise can prevent widespread diseases like high blood pressure, diabetes, strokes and heart attacks. Thus, one of the first investigations of the PAnalytics project addresses the promotion of physical activity in everyday life. For this purpose the Android app “MoveMyDay” has been developed, which counts all steps of the user and displays the progress with regard to the weekly goal in a visually appealing manner. Also best performances, averages and history are clearly displayed.

By means of this freely available app issues of effective motivation for everyday activities are investigated. Primarily the defined goals and steps made by the user will be evaluated. Site data or data which allows to draw conclusions about the concrete user won’t be recorded.

Interested persons are very welcome to install and use the app on their smartphone.
