Using vessel segments isolated from different vascular territories, the reaction of the vessels to different vasoactive substances can be analysed. This bioassay can be used to characterise the vasomotion of different vessels/vessel territories on the one hand, and to investigate the effect of vasoactive substances (pharmaceuticals or endogenous factors) on the other.
