Key Issues in Metropolitan Research RUHR LECTURE

Since 2013, the RUHR LECTURE has been organized by the Institute of Geography at Ruhr-University Bochum and the Faculty of Spatial Planning at TU Dortmund University. They are now joined by the Joint Center "Urban Systems" at the University of Duisburg-Essen. As of the winter term 2016/17, the RUHR LECTURE is organized by the Competence Field "Metropolitan Research" of the University Alliance Ruhr (UAR).

This time, the Ruhr Lecture of the winter semester 2019/20 will be focused on different methodological approaches applied in urban and metropolitan research. Thus, the topic of the lecture series will be "Methodologies in Metropolitan Research: Disciplinary Differences, Challenges and Solutions”. The Ruhr Lecture will be held in English.

Here you will find the programme of the Ruhr Lecture for the winter semester 2019/2020. For each date two scientists devote their expertise to exciting lecture topics. The series of lectures will start this year at the TU Dortmund (11 & 25 November, 9 December 2019), continue to Bochum (16 December 2019) and will last be held at the University of Duisburg-Essen (13, 20t & 27 January 2020).
