Prof. Dr. Florian Freitag

Florian Freitag received his PhD in American Studies from the U of Konstanz (Germany) in 2011 and has been professor of American Literary and Media Studies at the U of Duisburg-Essen (Germany) since 2019. He also taught at Johannes Gutenberg U Mainz (Germany), New York City College of Technology (CUNY), the U of Pécs (Hungary), and Jilin U (China). He has founded and participated in interdisciplinary research groups on theme parks, periodicals, and immersion. Further research interests include theories of cultural transfer, tourism, and performances.
