Fatih Özgan, M.Sc., has been working as a research associate and doctoral candidate at the Chair of Intelligent Embedded Systems in the Faculty of Computer Science at the University of Duisburg-Essen since April 2025. He received his Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering with a focus on Energy and Economics from the University of Duisburg-Essen in 2019. During his first year of his Master's studies, he worked as a research assistant at the Institute of Computer Science at the Ruhr West University of Applied Sciences. In 2021, he obtained his Master's degree in Electrical and Information Engineering with a focus on Automation and Control Engineering from the University of Duisburg-Essen. He then worked as a research associate and doctoral candidate at the Chair of Intelligent Systems in Computer Science at the University of Duisburg-Essen under Prof Dr Josef Pauli until he moved to our chair in April 2025.
Research
In his research, he focuses on Deep Reinforcement Learning, with a particular emphasis on the analysis and development of Deep Reinforcement Learning methods.
