Essen is located in the heart of the Ruhrgebiet in the west of Germany. It is accessible by plane, train, or car, of course.
There are different airports nearby, like Düsseldorf, Dortmund and Köln-Bonn.
The Essen Mainstation which is a stop for many ICE trains is only 10 Minutes away to the Conference Venue at the University Duisburg-Essen.
The subways U11, U17 and U18 will get you to the station Berliner Platz, from there it is a 5-minute walk to the Conference Venue.
