Thesis topic:  Development and Evaluation of Different Learning Analytics Indicator Types in OpenLAP

Description: The aim of learning analytics is to turn educational data into insights, decision, and actions to improve learning and teaching. Empowering the learners and teachers to take control of the indicator development process can increase the value and drive towards the acceptance and adoption of learning analytics systems. There is a need to support the LA stakeholders in exploring and defining more complex types of indicators that can support more advanced types of analysis, such as machine learning techniques. This thesis aims to design and enhance the Indicator Editor of the Open Learning Analytics Platform (OpenLAP) with more advanced types of indicators and provide an intuitive User Interface in OpenLAP for users to develop the complex types of indicators.
