Storage, transport and logistics

The storage of electrical energy from renewable generation represents a key to energy use and the targeted climate neutrality, but is an enormous challenge. In this topic area, the aim is to work with partners to demonstrate technical solutions that revolutionize both the storage and transport of gaseous and liquid hydrogen.

Mobility is one of the largest and most important areas affected by the use of new energy resources and the associated drive concepts. In addition to saving energy and switching to alternative, more sustainable drive concepts, this area also plays a major role in the automation of operational processes. In addition, there is the use of innovative traffic control systems, which can also make a significant contribution to reducing energy consumption and emissions.

In the approaches presented, the integration of hydrogen technologies both into the existing energy system and into existing production and conversion processes still requires in-depth research. Since there is considerable uncertainty regarding future developments, scenarios are also being developed that present system interrelationships and their future development in a structured manner.
