Curriculum Vitae

Xandra Knappe works as a research assistant and is pursuing a PhD in English Linguistics under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Birte Bös.

After moving from Bremen to North Rhine-Westphalia, she studied English and Social Sciences in her Bachelor’s and Master’s programme at the University of Duisburg-Essen, graduating with honours in 2024. Her MA thesis focused on a Critical Discourse Analysis of right-wing populist Members of the European Parliament during the 2024 EU elections on social media platform X. This project laid the foundations of her current PhD research, which centres on political rhetoric, identity construction through language, and populist discourse in multilingual digital environments.
