Ana pursued both of her Master’s degrees in the fields of English and German studies. She studied English Philology at The National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute” and graduated in 2017 with honours, an academic accomplishment that included successfully defending her Master's thesis, which focused on translation transformations in popular fiction targeted at women. Given her interest in German studies, in early 2019 she completed her second honours Master’s degree at V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, furthering her academic curiosity by conducting research in German linguistics through an investigation of the lexico-grammatical characteristics of German film review texts, which has laid the foundations for her current PhD project.
During the period from late 2019 till 2022, Ana occupied the position of a Lecturer at the Department for German Philology and Translation, V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University.
Ana is currently pursuing her PhD project under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Birte Bös. Her PhD thesis deals with multimodal means of evaluation in video film reviews. Ana’s field of scientific interest includes multimodal discourse analysis, multimodal pragmatics and computer-mediated communication.
