The Elementary School Research Laboratory (G-Lab)

Welcome to the website of our G-Lab!

The Elementary School Research Laboratory (G-Lab) is a place of active and joint learning and teaching.
Master of Education students of the University of Duisburg-Essen can acquire an exploratory habitus in a modern learning environment. Mobile and flexible classroom furniture, state of the art technology and modern media allow for a well-grounded professionalisation.

The flexible furniture offers a variety of seating and arrangement possibilities so that the room can be adjusted to every study group. An Interactive Whiteboard presents new perspectives of teaching and reveals the creative and interactive potential of new technology. Thusly, the laboratory follows current equipment initiatives and tries to train students in media literacy at an early stage.

The G-Lab is also designed as a "laboratorium" for girls and boys in primary school and the transitions from Kindergarten to the 7th grade. Curiosity and fascination are the leitmotif to playfully enthuse the children for engineering phenomena.
Additionally, there are plans for advanced trainings in several disciplines, especially for primary school teaching staff.
