Prof. Dr. Jens Voskuhl

Professor for the synthesis and application of novel luminophores

Jens studied chemistry at the WWU Münster where he obtained his diploma and PhD in the group of Prof. Dr. Bart Jan Ravoo, investigating the molecular recognition of cyclodextrin vesicles. After that he moved to the Netherlands joining the group of Prof. Dr. Alexander Kros (University of Leiden) and Prof. Dr. Pascal Jonkheijm (University of Twente) as a postdoc, where he worked on minimized SNARE proteins and switchable biosurfaces. After a short research stay in Münster in 2015 he was appointed junior-professor for bio-supramolecular chemistry at the University of Duisburg-Essen (UDE). From 2021 till 2023 he served as deputy professor (W3) for the Organic chemistry II chair at the UDE and was promoted to full professor (W3) at the end of 2023.
