Requirements

Registration for a final thesis requires the number of credit points prescribed in the respective examination regulations. If you have any questions about the requirements, please contact the responsible examination office.

In order to register your thesis, the signal account “Requirements for registering the final thesis met” must be shown in your grade report.

Choice of topic

Topics from the chair's topic catalog will be given priority. You can find the topic catalog below this text. If you are interested in a specific topic from this catalog, please contact the relevant supervisor first.

However, it is also possible to submit your own topic suggestions (especially when working with practice partners/industry). In this case, it is essential to submit an exposé (2-4 pages maximum) when contacting us, which will serve as a basis for the chair to assess the suitability of the topic.

Please note: Suggesting your own topics can extend the waiting time!

Contact

For inquiries about theses, please only use this contact form.

Please fill out the contact form completely and submit it via email to the chair's secretariat Ms. Werry along with a current grade overview from the examination office.

Please make sure to submit both documents and fill out the form completely to avoid time-consuming queries.

Due to capacity utilization, the chair reserves the right to give preference to students who have completed an advanced course at the Chair of Business Administration & Mobility and at the previous chair.

Registration of the bachelor's or master's thesis

Registration for a final thesis takes place via your supervisor once the topic has been determined by the chair.

The completed thesis (Bachelor's/Master's thesis) must be submitted to the responsible examination office on time and in printed, triplicate copies. Also an electronic version (USB stick/CD).

You can find more information about the registration process and how to submit your final thesis on the Examination Office website (https://www.uni-due.de/verwaltung/pruefungswesen/d_win_startseite.php#Abschlussarbeiten)

Formal specifications and submission

In addition to the content, the decisive factor for the assessment is that the general instructions from the chair on the preparation of scientific work as well as the further instructions on bachelor's and master's theses (see below) are observed. The formal requirements for writing academic papers will be communicated to the students by the supervising employee at the beginning of the processing period. Regardless of the type of work, an affidavit must be completed and signed according to the following template.

In exceptional cases, deviations from the specifications stated here must be agreed with the supervisor for all final theses.

Bachelor theses

The processing period according to the examination regulations is 12 weeks. The guideline for pure work (without appendices and directories) is 40 pages (+-10%). To be submitted, the work must be printed and bound in triplicate and submitted electronically to the examination office. After the written work, there will be a colloquium on the content of the bachelor's thesis. This consists of a 20-minute presentation followed by a discussion. Appointments are made in consultation with the supervisor.

Master theses

According to the examination regulations, the processing period is 26 weeks. The guideline for pure work (without appendices and indexes) is 60 pages. To be submitted, the work must be printed and bound in triplicate and submitted electronically to the examination office. After the written work, a colloquium on the content of the master's thesis takes place. This consists of a 30-minute presentation followed by a discussion. Appointments are made in consultation with the supervisor.

If you have any further questions, please contact the employee whose research focus corresponds to your topic ideas and with whom you would like to write your paper.

The chair's correction time for final theses is up to 6 weeks after the date of submission of the thesis. The colloquium also takes place during this period, in which the procedures are discussed
