Katja Koelkebeck is Associate Professor at the Department of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy at the University of Duisburg-Essen, Germany.

She is psychiatrist and psychotherapist and has long-standing expertise in clinical diagnosis and treatment of a broad spectrum of mental disorders including schizophrenia and affective disorders. Moreover, she runs an out-patient unit for the diagnosis of autism spectrum disorders (ASS) and a funded project including out-patient group psychotherapy in ASS.

Her research expertise covers the fields of cognitive testing (specifically social interactive abilities), psychotherapeutic treatment and neuroimaging of neuropsychiatric disorders as well as cross-cultural psychology.

She also holds a long-standing collaboration with the University of Kyoto, Japan, collaborating in the investigation of patients with neuropsychiatric disorders.

Katja Koelkebeck holds a master´s degree in medical teaching and is involved in the development of modern teaching methodology.
