Thesis Topic: Visual Explanations in an Educational Recommender System
Description: This thesis focuses on the implementation of visual explanations in an educational recommender system, in CourseMapper. Drawing on the research findings of generating "what" and "why" explanations in the RIMA project, this thesis integrates these visual "what" and "why" explanations in CourseMapper after adapting them to its context. Using visual explanations, the goal is to improve the system’s transparency by visually communicating to the learners why an item is being recommended to them.
