Thesis Topic:  Improving Personal Knowledge Graphs in CourseMapper

Description: The aim of this thesis is to improve the visualization and interaction design of personal knowledge graphs in CourseMapper, The improvements will be guided by the What-Why-How visualization framework and grounded in Human-Centered Design (HCD) principles to ensure that the resulting visualizations are both effective and user-centered. The thesis focuses on enhancing the visual presentation of personal knowledge graphs to make them more comprehensible and clear, improving filtering mechanisms to allow users to explore and manage complex information efficiently. Through iterative design, prototyping, and evaluation with users, the study aims to identify visualization and interaction techniques that best support learners in understanding, navigating, and reflecting on their personal knowledge structures. The expected outcome is a more intuitive, responsive, and insightful knowledge graph module that empowers users to better visualize and interact with their learning progress in CourseMapper.
